Maike and Daniel celebrated over three days in Brandenburg, with the slow pace of a countryside wedding that gives everyone time to settle in. Long meals ran into long afternoons. People gathered, lost each other in the garden, and found each other again.

The official part was brief. The long hours were the ones with friends and family, and rarely any reason to rush them. By the second day nobody looked up when I sat down at a table.
